Mammillaria is one of the largest genera in the cactus family, boasting around 200 known species and varieties. While most Mammillarias hail from Mexico, you’ll also find them in the southwestern United States, the Caribbean, Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, and Honduras. Mammillaria rhodantha aka Rainbow Pincushion

Mammillaria rhodantha grows as an upright pincushion cactus with colorful radial spines and a crown of flowers. Rainbow Pincushion prefers bright filtered light and a dry winter rest.

Mammillaria plumosa aka Feather Cactus

Mammillaria plumosa is covered in soft-looking white spines that resemble feathers and hide the cactus body beneath. Feather Cactus forms rounded clusters but should still be handled carefully.

Mammillaria elongata aka Ladyfinger Cactus

Mammillaria elongata forms dense clusters of narrow finger-like stems wrapped in golden spines. Ladyfinger Cactus stays compact and may produce small pale flowers around the stem tips.
